Meet Doctor Fred Bonds!

Dr. Fred Bonds’ journey into dentistry began nearly 45 years ago in his hometown of Tawas City, Michigan. What started as a part-time job cleaning a local dental office quickly sparked a lifelong passion for the field. Fascinated by the instruments and materials around him, he eagerly studied dental textbooks and learned the ins and outs of clinical tools. Under the mentorship of Dr. Mollard, he advanced from lab work to chairside assisting—and from that moment, he knew he had found his calling.
A graduate of Central Michigan University, Dr. Bonds earned a degree in applied arts and sciences in 1979 with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. He was also part of CMU’s prestigious University Honors program. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry in 1983, where he was actively involved in student life—as a research assistant in the Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology, a member of Delta Sigma Delta and S.C.A.D.A., and editor of the school newspaper.
His commitment to continuous learning led him to pursue additional credentials, including a clinical homeopathy degree from the American Academy of Clinical Homeopathy and a Doctor of Divinity from the American Institute of Holistic Theology. Dr. Bonds is a published researcher, a dental product evaluator, and an advocate for integrated medicine. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Bonds enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and his two dogs, Buddy and Cookie. He’s an avid reader with a passion for ancient philosophies, religions, and civilizations, and he finds joy in nature walks and exploring the small wonders of the natural world. Throughout his career, Dr. Bonds has remained grounded in gratitude—for his patients, their trust, and the opportunity to help others through dentistry. He believes success is measured by the lives touched and the trust earned. His approach is rooted in honesty, compassion, and a commitment to making care as comfortable and accessible as possible.
